A Legacy of Hope: The Journey of Ruben Hernandez
Ruben Hernandez came to the U.S. at twenty, and three years later, a tragic gunshot left him blind. Instead of despair, he saw a new purpose and founded UDLA. For nearly forty years, UDLA has been a beacon of hope, offering free services to hundreds of disabled individuals and their families.
Ruben’s blindness became his greatest gift, pushing him to become a tireless advocate for the disabled. His vision for UDLA was simple yet profound: to improve the quality of life for physically challenged individuals and help them reclaim their self-esteem.
At UDLA, we welcome everyone, no matter their background. Join us in celebrating Rubenβs unwavering spirit and the incredible impact of UDLA.
